  • Provide strategic HSE leadership and support to project development, construction, and operational teams.
  • Lead risk assessments and ensure effective control measures are implemented.
  • Oversee contractor HSE performance and ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and client requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, reporting findings and driving continuous improvement.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, local stakeholders, and other external bodies as required.
  • Coordinate environmental assessments, waste management plans, and biodiversity protection measures.
  • Support ESG and sustainability reporting with accurate environmental data and performance metrics.
  • Promote a positive HSE culture through training, engagement, and leadership by example.

  • Proven track record managing HSE on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, preferably including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar PV, or wind.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • Experience in environmental management and compliance with UK environmental permitting and reporting requirements.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification (Chartered status with IOSH desirable).
  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK, including Scotland
