Join the power movement as Manager, Supply Chain - Plant Infrastructure

The Manager, Supply Chain leads the team in charge of supply chain activities for the Plant Infrastructure scope, including plant design, construction, operations and maintenance, and industrial gases: strategic sourcing, tactical procurement, supplier management, supplier development and reliability. They build and develop the team of Supplier Integration Managers embedded within the project teams and are accountable for meeting the internal customers' needs. The Manager, Supply Chain position is a working manager role, and will be hands-on in the development, implementation, and execution of sourcing strategies for SPARC, FTL and ARC and other projects.

To be successful at CFS you must be a creative problem solver with the ability to work collaboratively on hard problems in a fast-paced environment with great people.

What you'll do

  • As a team manager:
    • Train, support, develop and coach the members of the team
    • Define, assign and monitor objectives
    • Have management responsibility for meeting cost, quality and delivery objectives
    • In close coordination with the engineering and construction leads, plan and assign work, manage the workload and define priorities as required
    • Act as an escalation point to solve issues
    • Own relationships at executive level with major architecture, engineering and construction partners, gas suppliers and suppliers
    • Ensure process adherence for strategic sourcing, purchase orders placement/management and supplier quality
    • Report on project status, risks and issues to the supply chain and the systems leadership teams
    • Lead change management and process definition/improvement initiatives
    • Recruit new team members as additional headcount is approved
  • As an individual contributor:
    • Elaborate and execute project procurement or commodity strategies
    • Coordinate planning and scheduling activities with the project engineering team, general contractors and suppliers
    • Coordinate supplier development and reliability activities with the assigned supplier development engineers in a matrixed organization
    • Drive sourcing projects, coordinating cross-functionally
    • Negotiate short and long-term agreements for parts, subassemblies, finished goods, equipment, and/or services
    • Create and manage purchase orders
    • Monitor suppliers throughout the execution of the contracts
    • Support cost savings initiatives, lead time improvement projects, and quality improvement projects
    • Visit suppliers as necessary to conduct business reviews or check on project milestones
    • Negotiate internally and externally at all levels or with people of influence frequently

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance or other related fields
  • 7+ years' related work experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or other relevant supplier-focused environment
  • Successful experience mentoring or coaching
  • Previous experience sourcing and overseeing construction projects, including equipment, parts and services
  • Ability to communicate with internal engineering, construction, manufacturing, and suppliers in a collaborative way
  • Ability to negotiate complex contracts
  • Ability to develop sourcing strategies for projects or commodities
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Customer service mindset and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Exceptional creative problem solving and critical thinking skills

Must-have Requirements

  • Perform extended activities such as stooping, climbing, typing, standing, sitting, etc.
  • Perform extended periods of phone or teleconference work
  • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call regularly; travel expected to be minimum 25%
  • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics

$110,000 - $185,000 a year

Salary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits. The actual salary will depend on level, location, qualifications, and experience. The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Benefits include:
