Job Description
Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Engineering Supervisor (ES) position within the Renewables Electrical Department with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems Electrical Design, Solar Energy Electrical Design, or Wind Energy Electrical Design. This role will focus on leading a subset of the full Team's employees. The Engineering Supervisor will foster on-the-job leadership development and allow for additional and efficient team growth, while supporting projects. This individual will report to directly to the Technical Manager and interact closely with other corporate business units such as sales, marketing, account management and project management. The Engineering Supervisor role requires a self-starting technical leader with expertise in personnel management, communication, and resource management. What You'll Do
Project Technical Lead - 60%
- Manages and leads engineering activities during the proposal and design stages of projects that are assigned or supports and supervises employees in this role.
- Provides project oversight, including managing engineering scope according to technical contracts, developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules or supports and supervises employees in this role.
- Maintains high levels of quality and responsiveness to meet internal and external client requirements in alignment with company expectations.
- Oversees engineering activities of team members.
- Responsible for reviewing project deliverables and assumes responsible charge as needed.
- Completes or supports team in developing tools to improve technical efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
- Performs or manages team/company professional development opportunities.
Management Responsibilities - 30%
- Provides strategic direction, leadership, and technical services oversight for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.
- Coaches, trains, and develops engineering technical staff for growth and development opportunities.
- Participates and supports technical manager in weekly team meetings.
- Perform individual performance reviews, training, and professional development for team members. Completes bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with employees.
- Supports growth of team through hiring and new business opportunities.
- Supports technical manager in resource planning and budgeting activities.
Business Development Responsibilities - 10%
- Participates and partners with members of the Sales team and engineers throughout the organization to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.
- Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group and other departments.
- Maintains positive client relationships with existing clients.
What We Expect from You
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and or Mechanical Engineering required from ABET accredited university or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience in an Engineering field preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE or PEng registration, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, strongly preferred.
- Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Strong analytic and information management skills.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies.
- High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and timeliness.
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills.
- Displays a high level of initiative and explores new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty.
- Up to 15% travel required.
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the US and or Canada.

**Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $134,300-$181,800***
Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
