Chief Operating Officer (COO)

As OTC Flow continues its journey towards becoming a corporate leader in the environmental commodity sector, we are actively seeking to grow our executive management team by appointing an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO), to be based in Amsterdam.

OTC Flow is a leading environmental commodity trading company with offices in Amsterdam and Paris. OTC Flow provides trading liquidity in virtually all financial-environmental instruments.

Our mission is to provide our partners with access to renewable energy markets and to help them achieve their sustainability goals in an informed and more intelligent way. Our network of partners is ever-growing and includes, among others, key players in the industrial, (semi)-governmental - and utility space.

About the role

Your role as a Chief Operating Officer will encompass the oversight and optimization of all operational functions of the company. This includes the daily management of the following departments: Risk, Legal-Compliance, Middle-Office, HR, IT and Office Management.

In this role, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the efficient execution of day-to-day business operations;
• Overseeing risk management processes, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk;
• Implementing risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's financial interests;
• Managing and optimizing technology infrastructure to support trading activities;
• Utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and improve operational performance;
• Ensuring the availability and integrity of data used in trading and risk management;
• Close oversight and day-to-day management of our trading support desks (mentioned above), hereby optimizing daily operations;
• Implementing best practices to enhance overall business performance;
• Direct reporting line to the CEO to enable informed decision-making.

About you

• 5+ years of experience in executive leadership roles;
• Proven track record in financial markets (trading industry being a big plus);
• Excellent leadership skills and personal integrity;
• Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues;
• Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics;
• Thrives in setting up initiatives from scratch;
• Proactive mindset
• Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues;
• Dynamic and rock-solid character adaptable to changes in the market, regulatory environment, and internal business strategies;
• Fluent in English; additional proficiency in French or Dutch is a plus;
• Ability to commute daily to our office in the heart of Amsterdam.
