Project Controller

The Project Controller (PC) plays an important role in the accounting and reporting activities of the group. The PC will continue to develop and improve the day-to-day operations, and work with accountants in entities around the world, being responsible for month-end and year-end closing activities, such as day to day accounting, month-end accruals, account reconciliations, invoicing, reconciliation of Portuguese GAAP books to IFRS, trend analysis and forecasts, cash flows preparation of local statutory accounts.

As the Group increases its operations around the world and fund-raising there will be increasing focus on accounting and reporting. The role requires a flexible, hands-on accountancy professional, and will also oversee and support the financial controller to ensure that the following activities are properly performed across all Portuguese entities by maintaining and improving financial processes, reporting and controls, and coordinating the local statutory audits and Group audit component.

Desirable skills

• Fluent written and spoken communication skills in Portuguese.
• Degree in Accounting/Finance and a recognized accounting qualification.
• Proven experience, ideally within an energy, utility, industrial company or similar industry within the Portuguese scope. Strong technical skills and hands-on experience in Portuguese GAAP, IFRS, consolidation and tax. Experience with SAP is mandatory.
• Keen to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities and ensure that work is completed in an accurate and timely manner and all financial and covenant requirements of lenders are complied with.
• Proactive self-starter, highly motivated, focused on working at a high level and producing an excellent work product under changing priorities and deadlines.
