As a key contributor to the Boralex team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the Risk Management Framework for energy markets in North America. We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background risk management and energy markets. Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable. You will play an important role in

Reporting to the Vice-President Finance, you will collaborate to the development of Boralex’s North American Risk Management Framework and lead its implementation. Working closely with the Energy Commercialization team and other stakeholders within Boralex, your responsibilities will include:

• Risk Management Framework: Collaborate in developing Boralex’s North American Risk Management Framework principles, objectives and processes.
• Risk Controls: Develop a package of proactive risk controls surrounding execution of physical and financial energy transactions.
• Risk Systems: Contribute to the development, deployment and management of risk systems including ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management).
• Risk Reports: Build, automate and maintain a suite of risk reports to be distributed to key stakeholders in the organization on a daily basis.
• Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies enabling optimization of revenues while maintaining compliance with the Risk Management Framework.
• Market Monitoring: Stay informed about North American energy market trends, regulatory updates, and emerging issues in the energy sector. Provide timely insights and recommendations based on market developments.
• Collaboration: Surface value by collaborating with colleagues in Risk Management roles in Boralex’s European business unit and different teams across the organization.
• Problem-Solving: Lead efforts to address and resolve any issues or disagreements related to market risks and risk management processes.
• Growth: Support the growth of the organization in building a scalable risk management framework and participating in successful integration of new renewable energy projects for the organization.

To succeed in this position, you need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in energy markets, risk management, or a related analytical role, with a preference for experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Experience with ETRM systems will be highly valued.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and market trends, with experience in financial modeling and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and market dynamics in the energy sector is highly desirable.
• Bilingual (French & English)
