Job Description

Our mission is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero-carbon power and transport around the world. We are passionate about making a positive impact on communities and the environment where we work.

We’re designing, financing, building and operating the world’s most sophisticated battery systems to enable the take up of more renewable power, electrifying fleets for cleaner air, and providing clean, portable power including repurposed electric vehicle batteries. Since we began in 2017, we’ve raised over £2 billion in debt and equity funding and transformed it into >1GW of grid-connected batteries live or under contract and c.2,000 electric vehicles supported. We have operations in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Benelux, the USA and a global headquarters in London.

We’re the leading owner and operator of battery storage in the UK, supporting the National Grid with the uptake of renewable power. We also work with c.90% of the UK's major bus companies, powering 25% of the UK e-bus market. We’re also the number one owner and operator of e-buses in Australia and New Zealand, and are quickly expanding into light commercial vehicles and trucks. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.

The Opportunity

Following Zenobē’s rapid growth story, an exciting opportunity has arisen in our Finance team. With global expansion and rapid growth, Zenobē is looking to make its first dedicated enterprise risk management hire.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Enterprise Risk Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of enterprise risk management across our global operations. This will include working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to embed a risk-aware culture and drive risk-informed decision-making.

This is a unique opportunity to develop and implement the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework across Zenobē Energy. This role will ensure that the company effectively identifies, evaluates, recommended actions, and monitors risks across financial, operational, strategic, and regulatory domains.

A Taste of the Day to Day

  • Develop and implement an enterprise risk management framework aligned with Zenobe Energy’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritise enterprise-wide risks, including financial, operational, regulatory, market, and reputational risks.
  • Develop and propose appropriate risk thresholds for the Leadership Team and Board to consider and sign-off
  • Establish risk management policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of emerging risks on business operations.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop risk action strategies and plans.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk exposures to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Support internal audit and compliance functions in ensuring adherence to risk policies and controls.
  • Facilitate risk awareness training and workshops across the organisation to strengthen risk culture.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, legal, and compliance teams to integrate risk management into decision-making processes.
  • Stay abreast of evolving risk trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to proactively address emerging risks.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certification such as IRM, FRM or PRM is a plus).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in enterprise risk management, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with financial risk assessment, operational risk controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, methodical approach with high attention to detail
  • Project management skills and resilience to manage projects to completion
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
