Information Security Engineer

As an Information Security Engineer at OX2, you are a key enabler of the energy transition by safeguarding our people, systems, and infrastructure. You strengthen OX2’s security capabilities across Europe, ensuring compliance, resilience, and trust in our operations. By combining technical expertise with curiosity and creativity, you ensure that security is not a barrier but a driver of innovation and growth.

Together with colleagues across IT, Operations, and Business Development, you will implement, operate, and continuously improve our security posture, making a tangible contribution to Europe’s sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners).
• Implement secure configurations and enforce security policies.
• Configure and maintain identity management and conditional access policies.
• Ensure compliance with standards (ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediate identified risks.
• Monitor alerts, manage incidents, and coordinate with SOC providers.
• Deliver security awareness training and build practical guidance for teams.
• Promote a culture where security is seen as an enabler across the organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in security operations or IT security.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and vulnerability management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant academic background is valuable, but emphasis is placed on your expertise, curiosity, and ability to learn quickly.

Other

• Experience in energy or critical infrastructure is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure security and cloud tools is beneficial.
• Security certifications (or willingness to pursue) are valued.
• Understanding of OT/IT security is a plus.
• Passionate about security as an enabler of the renewable energy transition.
