At 3Degrees, a leading B Corp in the environmental commodities market, we're on a mission to empower organizations to achieve a sustainable future. To support our growth, we are seeking a Market Risk Analyst who is looking to bring their analytical and quantitative skills to help our company implement a world-class risk management infrastructure. If you are passionate about assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, financial success and security of an organization, then this is an opportunity for you to join a developing risk management team, within a growing B Corp.

This is a full time, exempt role reporting to the Head of Risk. We value camaraderie and the benefits of in-person connection. We prefer candidates to join us in a voluntary flexible hybrid work style at one of our office hubs in San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY. This voluntary model provides flexibility while fostering team collaboration. Exceptional remote candidates within the US will also be considered. Periodic travel may be required for training or team collaboration and to conferences and customers as required. Frequency and cadence is team dependent, but on average is 1-6 times annually.

Please Note: 3Degrees does not provide sponsorship and/or relocation assistance; therefore, pre-existing right-to-work status is a prerequisite to be considered for this position.

What You’ll Do

As a Market Risk Analyst, you'll enhance and build quantitative tools that help measure and monitor risk across our global environmental commodities portfolios. You'll work closely with trading and operations teams to ensure risk exposure is accurately captured and modeled, while also helping to expand our capabilities as we enter new and complex markets. • Maintain and enhance risk models and tools to measure market exposure and price risk, including building curve marking and PnL reporting processes
  • Provide independent validation of trader marks and contribute to robust model governance
  • Adapt existing models and develop new ones to reflect the unique characteristics of illiquid and emerging environmental markets
  • Collaborate closely with trading and trade operations teams to ensure risk metrics accurately reflect portfolio positions
  • Use R, Python, or Excel VBA to build and maintain models; R is preferred but not required on day one
  • Leverage SQL and Tableau (or similar tools) to build a data infrastructure that supports company-wide risk visibility
  • Contribute to cash flow forecasting and working capital modeling
  • Serve as a key partner to the trading desk, participating in daily discussions and evolving portfolio strategies
  • Assist in other risk department initiatives
