Would you like a challenging student job within a green energy company? Are you motivated by working with technical modelling and applying your skills to the renewable energy transition? Then join us as our new Student Assistant in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) team at European Energy.

What you will do

You will support the BESS team in advancing our modelling work and business case development. Your main tasks will include:

  • Running simulations of battery storage systems across different electricity markets.
  • Analyzing and validating output data from the models and preparing results for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and further developing our Python-based optimization model.
  • Identifying and solving bugs in the model, as well as proposing improvements to ensure robust and reliable performance.
  • Comparing results against third-party benchmarks and refining assumptions where needed.
  • Translating technical model output into business cases and presentations for management and project teams.

The position is 12-15 hours a week with office in EE HQ, Søborg, Denmark, with the possibility of flexible working hours.

About you

  • You are in the final year of your Bachelor’s degree or in the first year of your Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, energy economics, or a similar field.
  • You have solid programming skills in Python and are curious to learn more about optimization techniques.
  • You are analytical, structured, and comfortable with handling large datasets.
  • You are motivated by problem solving and not discouraged by working on open-ended challenges.
  • You are familiar with, or interested in, the renewable energy sector and electricity markets.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
