Your tasks

• You develop enterprise-level solutions for the market risk team
• You assist the risk department with technical expertise in their daily tasks
• Evolving the technological capabilities of the trading infrastructure belongs to your responsibilities
• Communicating and exchanging ideas with relevant stakeholders is part of your role

Your profile

• You study a quantitative field such as mathematics, computer science, engineering or a comparable discipline
• Working with Python and at least one other modern programming language like R, Java, or C++ defines your technical foundation
• You are proficient in object-oriented programming, version control, and rigorous software testing
• Familiarity with modern development tools such as Poetry, UV, or Ruff, and deployment platforms like Docker or Kubernetes belongs to your strengths
• You understand and actively leverage AI capabilities in your work
• Extracting insights from large datasets using quantitative analysis is something that characterizes your analytical mindset
• You are eager to build expertise in energy and commodity markets — prior trading experience is a plus
• Communicating clearly in both written and spoken form is one of your core skills
• You speak fluent English; knowledge of German is advantageous and complements your international profile

About the department

As one of the largest German utilities and the only fully integrated one, EnBW pursues a clear strategy with a focus on renewable energies and builds photovoltaic and wind farms (onshore and offshore) in Germany, as well as in other European countries such as Uk and Sweden. Additionally, we invest in electromobility and have one of the largest networks of fast-charging stations in Germany.

EnBW Trading supports the overall strategy of EnBW by expanding its business and actively taking on risks: more markets, more products, longer durations. In this context, many processes and systems are used that generate operational risks. These risks should be minimized while considering costs. Furthermore, EnBW Trading views the minimum requirements for risk management (MaRisk) as a relevant German quality standard for EnBW Trading's risk management and undergoes compliance checks every two years.

Remote means for you: You have the opportunity to work remotely throughout Germany. You will also meet your colleagues in the office at most once a month.
