We are looking for an Application Sales Engineer to join our Industrial Measurements sales team at Vaisala Inc. located in Burlington, MA. You will join a growing team whose focus is to provide solutions to customers in a variety of industries and applications.

What's Your Role?
You will be part of our Industrial Instruments sales team, made up of technical sales professionals. Together with the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to support sales activity and provide solutions to a variety of customer needs. In this role you will be working in close co-operation with outside sales managers, product management, and marketing to drive revenue growth and share industry expertise. You will report to Kevin Walsh, Head of Inside Sales.
- Supporting internal/external technical questions, and recommending solutions for a diverse set of applications via live video meetings, phone, email, and chat
- Provide technical expertise and product recommendations related to relative humidity, carbon dioxide, dew point, hydrogen peroxide, and barometric pressure measurements
- Develop an understanding of customer industries and applications to identify strategic opportunities for outside sales and product management
- Travel independently to support presentations, trade show activities, and customer needs
- Conduct and present in-depth market research and analysis
- Attend and/or present at technical conferences, webinars, and related in-person and virtual events to gather industry data
- Collaborate with marketing and product management teams to create technical documentation and marketing resources
- Develop webinars and technical training presentations for customers, external sales channels and internal teams
- Input customer data and daily activity utilizing CRM tools
What will you bring?
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical or other relevant discipline
- 3-5 or more years of technical sales or related industry experience (ie. HVAC, environmental monitoring systems, instrumentation)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management and organization skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage long-term, independent projects
- Customer focus with the ability to communicate service features and benefits
- Ability to learn market, product, and application knowledge
- Advanced understanding of technical documentation
- Act with integrity, aligned with Vaisala values
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, basic knowledge of core business processes.
- Ability to fluently communicate in English with additional language skills being a plus
ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $100,000 base salary with our annual Sales Bonus plan in addition to base compensation. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
