YOUR PROFILE

As part of the construction of the Oxford Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project - a major 125 MW/500 MWh project - Boralex is seeking an Electrical Site Coordinator (Intern).

YOUR CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the electrical work for the Oxford BESS Project located near Woodstock, Ontario. As part of the project's construction activities, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective project management focused on quality, environmental compliance, people, and worker safety;
  • Conduct regular inspections and monitor construction activities related to the BESS project;
  • Maintain communication with contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, environmental regulations, cost control, quality control, and project schedule;
  • Participate in drafting and reviewing reports for all work activities, such as progress reports, procurement tracking, labour, materials, extra work, property or environmental damages, technical deficiencies, technical requests for information (RFI), and reports related to the quality program;
  • Ensure the project complies with legal and regulatory approvals, the environmental management plan, and all associated permits;
  • Audit contractor work according to plans and specifications;
  • Actively participate in site meetings.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Second- or third-year student in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology. Students studying civil or mechanical engineering or technology may be considered depending on previous work experience;
  • Experience and/or interest in construction site management and supervision;
  • Work experience on a construction site, in electrical substation construction or in BESS construction is an asset;
  • Ability to report and document information accurately and on time;
  • Quick learner capable of meeting tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communicator with strong teamwork skills; autonomous, rigorous, and result-oriented;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively;
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite;
  • Valid driver's licence.

This internship requires your presence on the construction site. Work schedules and travel frequency will be discussed. This is a temporary internship position with an approximate duration of 16 weeks.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $24.23 - $25.44. Compensation at Boralex is determined in accordance with internal policies and business requirements, taking into account factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum base salary for the position at the applicable work location and does not guarantee compensation. Total compensation may include eligibility for an annual Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) and other benefits, in accordance with applicable plans and policies.
