Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Regional Safety Manager to support multi-state energy efficiency and renewable energy construction projects. This role will be covering the East region that covers everything East of Mississippi. Preferably this candidate will lives in or around Maryland due to being geographically in the middle of most of the projects. This will be a remote position with 50-75% travel obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategy and short-term plans for continuous improvement of the safety, health and environmental compliance program across all aspects of the Ameresco's Regional business operation.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA requirements and employees are trained on proper use.
  • Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised.
  • Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, under-go comprehensive root-cause analysis, and corrective actions implemented to minimize the likelihood of repeat occurrence.
  • Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings as required.
  • Work with project supervision and management to create safety solutions to safety problems.
  • Foster and maintains a positive safety culture for the project personnel.
  • Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings for Project Staff.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or similar Field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in Construction Safety Management.
  • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
  • Ability to travel close to 70% of the time as necessary.

Additional Qualifications

  • Prior history with BESS or PV Construction in a safety role.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Procore, and other basic computer skills.
  • Must be organized, proactive and have proven experience in OSHA Compliance.
  • Skillful communicator in both verbal and in written communication.
  • Excellent writing skills with proper grammar.
  • A great listener who can communicate professionally and in an open and positive approach.
