(Permanent role) Education Officer salary range $89,558- $110,146 plus super. This role is based in Hobart.

(Temporary role - 10 months) Education Advisor salary range $113,448 - $131,517 plus Super. This role is based in Gowrie Park/Trevallyn.

Who are you?

Your ability to manage multiple tasks and 'wear many different hats' is vital to your success in this role. Your experience will include:

  • Ability to engage students of all ages as well as a wide range of audiences including families and general community members
  • Capabilities in building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong ability to plan, organise and coordinate programs and interactivelessons
  • Ability to bring new ideas to life
  • Background and passion for teaching STEM and/or specific experience in science, renewable energy industries and engaging a broad range of people is desirable

About the role

As an Education Advisor or Education Officer you will have the chance to bring your passion and creativity to educate and inspire the next generation! Within this role you will use your skills and experience (ideally from working with students) to develop and update lesson plans and hands-on activities as well as planning for and attending range of events from STEM-based events to careers exhibitions, to facilitating school power station tours. Our education program is fully funded by Hydro Tasmania to enable access to students from all walks of life to be inspired to take up STEM subjects or a career in renewable industries.

We currently have 2 positions available at the moment. Our Education Advisor position which is for a 10-month fixed-term position based in Gowrie Park or Trevallyn and our Education Officer position which is a permanent, ongoing role based in Hobart/Southern Tasmania.

As an Education Officer and Advisor, you will:

✓ Undertake classroom-based presentations as required to promote Hydro Tasmania's activities, initiatives and projects

✓ Participate in community events and represent Hydro Tasmania as opportunities arise and where appropriate

✓ Develop and maintain a professional network to manage our ongoing education partnerships and keep up with new ideas and external programs (Education Advisor role)

✓ Contribute to the Communication and Engagement team's strategy as well as ensure compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements and corporation policies

Both positions will require a current driver's licence, the ability to undertake some manual handling tasks and a Working with Vulnerable People card (WWVP) (or ability to obtain).
