Job Description
Factorial develops breakthrough solid-state battery technology to enable safe, scalable, and high-performance cells for electric vehicles. Our portfolio of solid-state innovations includes the segment-leading FEST (Factorial Electrolyte System Technology), which has been scaled in 100+Ah cells, works at room temperature, and is compatible with existing lithium-ion battery manufacturing equipment. The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Engineer with a focus on preventive maintenance and complex troubleshooting to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our all-solid-state battery manufacturing equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing advanced equipment in a high-tech production environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of all manufacturing equipment.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues impacting production.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Continuously monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations in the maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in battery manufacturing technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, preferably in the battery manufacturing or semiconductor industry.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and methodologies.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues.
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and control software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with all solid state battery manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
