Due to internal promotion, we are now seeking to recruit an experienced Bid Manager to join our Operations and Asset Management Department, based from one of our Scottish office locations - Stirling, Glasgow or Castle Douglas.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The Bid Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of high-quality bid submissions in order to maximise the opportunities to win new work. This involves working closely with technical and senior management in the Asset Management, Control Centre, Servicing, and Performance Reliability & Optimisation departments, and the wider Natural Power business, to support the generation and conversion of opportunities. The Bid Manager works closely alongside other Bid Managers and Bid Coordinators, to manage the bid process.

  • Delivery of the opportunity/bid management process and commercial QA for tenders, quotes and pre-qualifications (PQQs).
  • Commercial approach to bid management with a focus on profitability.
  • Project management of the tender writing process, including coordination of a multidisciplinary bid team.
  • Close liaison with relevant business units and support teams, to ensure timely submission of deliverables for quotes and tenders.
  • Management of cost calculators and price books.
  • Commercial contract review and negotiation support including liaison with stakeholders.
  • Act as a client contact, where appropriate, and follow up of submitted tenders, as required.
  • Management of opportunity records in the CRM and ERP system to enable accurate, live business pipeline reporting.
  • Responsibility for tender templates.
  • Compiling tender documents, including formatting and maintaining version control.
  • Management of creation, collation and on-going maintenance of tender supporting information, including case studies, experience summaries and team CVs.
  • Assist with NDA and contract negotiations, in collaboration with Natural Power's in-house legal team and department senior management.
  • Responsibility for collaboration with the finance team and project coordination teams, to ensure project handovers are delivered effectively once a contract has been agreed.
  • Responsibility for on-going systems maintenance to ensure department reporting is accurate and concise.
  • Responsibility for tender portal submissions and ensuring compliance with client procurement processes.
  • Working collaboratively with bid team personnel in other technical departments, to support and strengthen the bid process.
  • Ad-hoc business development support, in line with business requirements.

This is a PERMANENT role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
