We are seeking an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and multiphase flow modeling, with extensive experience using ANSYS tools. This role involves developing and validating CFD models to support design and optimization of advanced energy systems, including fuel cells and electrolysis technologies.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and validate CFD simulations for single-phase and multiphase flows, heat transfer, and related phenomena.
  • Utilize ANSYS Fluent/CFX and other ANSYS products for modeling and analysis.
  • Perform geometry preparation, mesh generation, and post-processing of simulation results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CFD insights into product design and development.
  • Conduct parametric and sensitivity analyses to optimize system performance.
  • Document methodologies, results, and recommendations in technical reports and presentations.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for fluid-related performance issues.
  • Stay current with emerging CFD techniques and tools, particularly in the energy and hydrogen sectors.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in ANSYS Fluent/CFX and related tools.
  • Experience with multiphase flow simulations (e.g., gas-liquid interactions, bubble dynamics).
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo for CAD modeling and integration with CFD workflows.
  • Experience in electrolysis or similar electrochemical systems is highly desirable.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in CFD modeling and analysis.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proven expertise in ANSYS Fluent/CFX and related tools.
  • Experience with multiphase flow simulations (e.g., gas-liquid interactions, bubble dynamics).
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo for CAD modeling and integration with CFD workflows.
  • Experience in electrolysis or similar electrochemical systems is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrochemical modeling or coupling CFD with electrochemical processes.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, MATLAB) for automation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and optimization techniques.
  • FEA experience a plus.
