Position Overview

Greentown Labs is seeking a highly motivated and organized Partnerships Manager to play a critical role in serving our corporate partners in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for the delivery of partner engagements in Houston, TX, coordination of Sector Pitch Days in Houston, supporting the Director of Partnerships with local partner accounts, and providing support across sites as needed for partner activities. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, customer-service-oriented, and impact-focused.

What You'll Do

Manage partner relationships and renewals:

  • Steward corporate partner accounts through engaging partners in thought-leadership opportunities, organizing proactive touchpoints with partners, and tracking activities and communication in an organized manner.
  • Evaluate partner needs and engagement history on an ongoing basis to inform renewal strategy.
  • Negotiate and prepare renewal of partnership contracts.
  • Ensure data tracking and organization associated with the portfolio of partner accounts is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure partners' connection with members.

Support partnership engagement delivery with a particular focus on Houston-led activities:

  • Support the partnerships team in engagement scoping and facilitating delivery.
  • Manage high-profile partnership-related executive tours, events, and discussions in Houston.
  • Support the Director of Partnerships in Houston to ensure that any and all partnership requests are both realistic and met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Support on developing and managing the new-partner pipeline.

Develop programming for and execute on Sector Pitch Days held in Houston, in coordination with the rest of the partnerships team:

  • Identify relevant themes for specific sectors and design the event program.
  • Strategically target relevant corporate partners and ecosystem friendlies for speaking and/or engagement opportunities.
  • Work with the Houston Community Experience team to garner startup participation and set expectations.
  • Work with the Houston Community Experience team on all day-of logistics as well as any external promotion.
  • Seek sponsorship opportunities with relevant, mission-aligned organizations.

Contribute to additional Partnerships team initiatives as needed, including but not limited to:

  • Assist with Partnerships team office hours.
  • Support the planning and execution of Climatetech Summit.
  • Attend and provide support for strategic events and conferences alongside team members.
  • Assist with the preparation of Partnerships-led communications, such as the Pilot Digest newsletter.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with corporate executives, startup founders, and ecosystem partners.

  • Proactive and self-motivated, able to take initiative, manage time effectively, and anticipate partner and organizational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience; experience in innovation or climate technology is a plus, but not necessary.
  • At least two years of experience with project and/or constituent management.
  • Ability to absorb information and learn and develop new relationships quickly.
  • Experience managing multiple competing projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstration of a drive for collaboration-both internally and externally.
  • Demonstration of customer service for diverse constituencies.
  • Comfort with virtual tools-web-conferencing platforms, CRMs (Salesforce), etc..
  • An interest in learning on the job, a can-do attitude, and openness to being pushed outside of your comfort zone.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a startup environment or with sustainability-focused organizations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the cleantech or climatetech industry is a plus.

General Physical Demands

  • Stationary Work: Prolonged periods working on a computer.
  • Mobility: Regularly moving around the office to interact with colleagues, access files, and attend meetings.

Additional Considerations

  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site events or conferences.
  • Late Hours: Evening work will be necessary for some events.

Work Location and Schedule

Greentown staff generally operate on a hybrid schedule, with expectations to be on-site at Greentown Labs locations in Somerville, MA or Houston, TX at least three days per week, with the option to work remotely two days per week. Some roles do not permit a hybrid or work-from-home schedule. Our standard business hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m..
