About the Role
This role will serve as support for the Project Engineering group to monitor and evaluate engineering progress across all projects, maintaining and analyzing Jira data to assign, escalate, and document resolutions across the project engineering group.
Accountable For
The Project Engineering Analyst will provide technical support on a daily basis for collecting and tracking discrepancies on the project work being performed. This activity includes preparing regularly scheduled reports and participating in project review meetings
Responsibilities
- Update Jira as needed based on input from project team, field service team, and other internal stakeholders.
- Review and analyze technical information including requirements, designs, documents, and drawings to identify issues and discrepancies and document in Jira.
- Investigate and gather information to determine impacts, risks, workarounds, affected products and projects for issues and defects against product and project designs registered in Jira.
- Enter and clarify issues and defects reported by project team, field service team, and other internal stakeholders for assessment and proposed resolutions by issue owners to be captured in Jira.
- Identify issues across projects and escalate to project engineers for resolution.
- Identify issues across products and escalate to product development engineers for resolution.
- Coordinate issue review and resolution meetings to include minute taking and capturing action items and updating status in Jira.
- Provide reports to the Project Engineer for the project by providing technical analysis and issue resolution status.
- Provide issue/defect status reports for project engineering, project management and leadership as needed for those audiences.
- Provide site remediation activities reports for project engineering, project management and leadership when needed.
- Provide other reports on a regular basis as needed for monitoring performance and other metrics on projects.
- Provide document data management support by assuring document templates and distribution notices are correct for the intended purpose.
- Provide configuration management support by ensuring documents and project artifacts are captured in accordance with the Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
- Provide tool admin support by maintaining access controls for Jira, SharePoint and Teams as team members change.
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, in the spirit of an agile design group within an active technology company.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and understand how components fit into a larger system
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosis and design improvement
- Ability to read and understand engineering schematics, drawings and documents
- Strong cross-discipline system skills
- Ability to self-direct to a goal and achieve independent success
- A team-player attitude and strong written/verbal communication skills are a must
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Access
- 1+ years' experience with Atlassian Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud
Travel
- Overnight/North America: Less than 10%
Working Conditions
- Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Factory - The worker may be subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to temperature changes or exposure to chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, odors, dust, mists, and gases. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats. May be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
