Job Description

At Transgrid, we play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy to millions of Australians. Operating over 13,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations across NSW and the ACT, we connect electricity generators to the distribution network-powering homes, businesses, and communities.

As the energy sector evolves, we're growing our workforce to drive innovation and transformation.

The Opportunity

This role goes beyond traditional administration. As Administration Assistant in the CEO Office, you will be at the centre of our leadership and governance operations. You will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the CEO and interact with the CEO, ELT, senior management and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. While this role is primarily based in our Ultimo office under a hybrid working arrangement, candidates should note that during certain periods of the year, particularly November and December, significant regional travel is required to support the Annual CEO Roadshow and related leadership events.

It is a role that combines precision, professionalism, and trust with the ability to anticipate needs, manage complex logistics, and handle sensitive information with absolute discretion. You will be instrumental in ensuring our most senior forums run seamlessly, our leadership is well supported, and our people remain connected to the CEO through major organisational initiatives. This role is offered on a 9-day fortnight, giving you the benefit of a regular RDO while working in a dynamic and high-profile executive environment.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Providing daily support to the EA and CEO, ensuring smooth executive operations.
  • Coordinating ELT and TLG meetings, setting up and maintaining ELT and Board calendars, and preparation of agendas, papers, and packs.
  • Managing and delivering the Annual CEO Roadshow, engaging directly with employees across regional depots.
  • Overseeing financial administration including expenses, travel bookings, purchase orders, and reconciliations.
  • Driving improvements to systems and processes, ensuring the CEO Office remains efficient and future ready.

About You

You are someone who thrives in a high-profile, fast-paced environment, and who takes pride in supporting leaders to succeed. You have excellent organisational skills, strong judgment, and a service mindset that finds satisfaction in making others' work more effective.

To succeed, you will bring:

  • Proactivity and ownership: You anticipate needs, take initiative, and follow through without constant direction.
  • Confident communication skills: Able to interact effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business.
  • Discretion and integrity: Trusted to manage sensitive information, always demonstrating absolute professionalism.
  • Strong organisational capability: Skilled at balancing competing priorities, managing complex schedules, and delivering to deadlines.
  • Technical proficiency: Competence with Office365 and administrative systems, with the ability to adapt quickly to new tools.

Nice-to-have experience includes prior exposure to CEO/Board offices, governance environments, or C-Suite support roles. Though equally important is your ability to bring energy, resilience, and professionalism and a dose of fun to the role each day.

Transgrid's Values in Action

At Transgrid, our values guide how we work and what we stand for. In this role, they are not just principles. They are critical to success:

  • Integrity: This role demands the highest level of trust. You will handle confidential information daily, make decisions in collaboration with senior leaders, and represent the CEO Office. Integrity is non-negotiable.
  • Service: Our CEO Office exists to enable others to succeed. A strong service ethos is essential, with pride taken in supporting leaders and stakeholders.
  • Achievement: Success is measured in outcomes, whether that's the seamless delivery of the CEO Roadshow, accurate meeting packs, or timely problem-solving. You will own your work and deliver with excellence.
  • Safety: As a visible part of our culture, you will promote and model health, safety, and wellbeing in every aspect of your work.

Benefits & Perks

At Transgrid, we empower our people with a well-rounded benefits package designed to support their personal, professional, and social well-being, helping them deliver their best work every day. Employees have access to a range of corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, health & wellbeing etc, as well as novated leasing options, workplace flexibility, 20 weeks paid parental leave and more.

Regardless of where you are in your professional journey, Transgrid powers your career by providing access to regular and on-going training, workplace mentoring and tertiary education. Here you are encouraged to build a career that is right for you.
