Job Description
The Senior Renewable Energy Development Expert Switzerland will be responsible for supporting all Green operational matters in Switzerland, including a JV cooperation, driving growth and maximising profitability. Our new colleague will also drive and support the technical deliverables of renewable energy projects, composed of wind energy as well utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, and provide coordination from project development, construction to putting the assets into operation.
- Coordinate wind energy and BESS projects from the investor's side, in particular - oversee project timelines, budgets, resources, planning, licensing, construction and other technical work processes to ensure projects are completed on time in full;
- Focus mainly on projects in Switzerland (both in German and French speaking part), while - as per business needs - also being involved in selected German projects;
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key partners (partners, subcontractors, landowners, authorities, grid operators, associations etc.);
- Develop and implement strategies, generate potential investment and business development leads for renewables, particularly wind energy generation and BESS projects, including opportunities from the existing portfolio, e.g. selected site development (Arealentwicklung), enlargement projects and refurbishment/repowering projects to improve business efficiency;
- Identify potential risks to the partnership's projects and develop strategies to mitigate them. This may involve assessing risks related to project development, construction, operations, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes;
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and stay on top of regulatory changes;
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation and coordination with all involved internal teams and external partners;
- Report strategic matters of the partnership on a regular and ad hoc basis, in a timely and accurate manner to the Green Assets Management;
- Stay up to date related to advancements in wind energy, photovoltaic, BESS and any other related technologies and identify opportunities to leverage new innovations to improve efficiency and competitiveness;
- Availability to travel across Switzerland, Germany and Europe as necessary for the role.
Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years experience in renewables project development, particularly wind and BESS projects, and construction management in Western Europe, preferably (at least partially) in Switzerland;
- Solid understanding of the technical and economic aspects of wind power plants and other renewable technologies;
- Fluent in English and German (preferably in a Swiss German dialect), any additional language knowledge - particularly French - is an advantage;
- College/university degree in Engineering, with affinity to commercial topics;
- We are looking for a dedicated, proactive new colleague with great leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
