Job Description

At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.

We are looking for a Materials Receiving Inspector to act as the Owner's Engineer representative on-site, ensuring all incoming materials meet project specifications and quality standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to support successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and verify all incoming solar-related materials, equipment, and components against approved submittals and specifications.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of photovoltaic modules, inverters, and other components per project and manufacturer requirements.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and documentation-based inspections to confirm compliance with design and quality standards.
  • Review supplier documentation (Material Test Certificates, Mill Test Reports, etc.) for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare Material Receiving Reports (MRRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and logistics teams for timely deliveries and inspections.
  • Support implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and assist in audits and quality reviews.

Here's what you'll need

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • Proven experience as a Materials Receiving Inspector in the Energy & Power sector, preferably solar projects.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and material traceability requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials and international standards (ASTM, ACI, API, ISO).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in inspection tools and digital documentation systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
