Your new team
You will join our engaged and dedicated Project Development team in Barcelona. The teams responsibility is to identify, engage and negotiate with landowners/development partners to obtain land rights to develop utility-scale renewable energy projects. The team works closely together with colleagues based in our Headquarter in Copenhagen - and you will do the same. Furthermore, you will interact with different stakeholders like mayors, administrations and co-development companies.
Your new role
As our new Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for wind, photovoltaic and BESS projects in Spain during the development phase, from conception (internal project development) or screening (project acquisition) to financial close and handover to the EPC Project Manager for construction.
Your main responsibilities include
- Lead and manage wind, solar PV and BESS projects in Spain (up to 150 MW) from concept to Ready-to-Build (RTB).
- Evaluate project risks, economics, and investment potential to support internal approvals.
- Oversee permitting processes and ensure the timely acquisition of construction permits.
- Prepare detailed project presentations, reports, and financial models.
- Negotiate land and development contracts in coordination with legal teams.
- Maintain long-term relationships with landowners and manage lease renewals.
- Engage proactively with local communities and key stakeholders.
- Track project timelines, budgets, and documentation to ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams (especially EPC) and external partners.
Your profile
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field from a university or equivalent institution.
- You bring at least 5 years of experience in a similar project management role within the renewable energy sector. Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a plus.
- You have recent hands-on experience in the Spanish wind and solar PV industry and you are familiar with the full project lifecycle, particularly the permitting phase.
- You are familiar with GIS tools and project management software.
- You possess a valid driving license.
- You are fluent in Spanish, with a professional-level English proficiency.
