Responsibilities
- Support and review the mechanical / electromechanical design of energy storage products, including:
- Completing and optimizing welded steel structural designs using design software based on system architecture integration requirements
- Designing cable and conduit routing for electrical systems and selecting and specifying associated components (must have understanding of electrical conduits and cabling systems)
- Desiging and populating electrical enclosures (including modeling devices on backpanels)
- Providing designs for coolant piping routing and pipe supporting (must have understanding of piping system components)
- Assist in conducting structural mechanics simulations to optimize structural performance.
- Facilitate design reviews for energy storage systems, ensuring cost-effective and manufacturable solutions.
- Involved in the analysis and provides advice on critical issues during prototype & production stage.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in science of mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical structural design of energy systems equipment, proficient in PTC Creo design software and capable of performing load calculations or basic mechanical simulations by hand.
- Prior experience (3+ years) in sheet metal engineering, structural steel, and welding for medium-to-large products
- Prior experience with electromechanical design (cabling/conduit systems, electrical enclosures)
- Candidates with 3+ years of experience in design for large-scale containerized ESS and applicable industry standards will be prioritized.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
