Job Description

Our Process Engineering Department seeks an engineering coop desiring Summer employment to perform some specific projects and to assist in general engineering activities in order to support the launch of Plug Power's Giga Factory in Rochester, NY.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing general process engineering duties in support manufacturing operations
  • Support of manufacturing development projects
  • Develop and document product and process quality methods; testing process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize engineering change process and all relevant communication/documentation
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performing other duties/ projects as assigned by the Process Engineering Manager

Education and Experience

  • Student of mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering (or, similar)
  • Experience with CAD technology, Solidworks preferred.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in tooling and gage designs
  • Must be able to read blueprints and electric/pneumatic schematics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Work up to 40-hours per week between 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday thru Friday
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex methodologies to diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Uncompromising dedication to product quality
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
