We are now looking for a Sales Manager (m/f/d) to join our team working for a better future.

The preferred location for the position is in Hamburg-Schlenzigstraße, Germany.

What you will be doing

As Sales Manager your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor and develop the sales leads, opportunities and projects in his/her own responsibility area and report the progress to relevant stakeholders, using CRM tools and systems.
  • Close cooperation with internal Teams (Business Units, PCM-Parts, Sales Proposal team, Field Service, Workshop).
  • Define action plans for assigned sales/support team according to sales business strategy.
  • Review performance of the service business & propose where business can be improved in line with our way-of-working and our Wartsila strategy
  • Estimate and forecast sales volumes; create understanding of offering and costs of opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships (CRM).
  • Identify and develop relationships with new/potential customers (CRM).
  • Organize and actively participate in relevant (sales) meetings with customers (internal, external).
  • Identify and manage potential risks detected in sales projects.
  • Inform about market developments in different segments, for example merchant, cruise industry, offshore.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • Proven experience in the Marine Industry and/or medium speed engine environment.
  • Ability to work in an international business environment and virtual teams.
  • Very comfortable to work with CRM (custom relation management) systems.
  • Dedicated team player with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Self-driven and self-motivating
  • Continuous learning ability.
  • Openness & willingness to adapt to change.
  • Travel domestically to meet customers.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • (Wartsila) product & system knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiar with using of the general Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in German - written & spoken (min. level C2)
  • Fluent in English.
