Job Description
The Senior Site Safety Manager will coordinate, Implement, and Monitor the Corporate Safety Programs at various project locations.
This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Yerington, NV and will require travel through CA, WA, and NV. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties
- Able to travel to assigned sites to oversee all duties of Safety Manager.
- Oversees the performance of the assigned Site Safety Managers and Reps.
- In the field 60-80% of the time auditing and managing site safety plans with Site Safety Managers.
- Provide safety training and education programs to company personnel.
- Use Office Suite (Word, Power Point and Excel) to write reports and for training.
- Can navigate company intranet - The Grid, for accessing company policies, procedures, and forms.
- Organize pre-job safety planning meetings to plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job.
- Audits the Forepersons and site management meetings to address safety issues.
- Verifies all crane pick plans for the sites assigned.
- Audits the site orientation for new hires and visitors given by the Site Safety Manager.
- Audits the morning all-hands meetings and verifies all workers are given required PPE.
- Works with the Superintendents to verify all-hands are healthy and ready to work at the beginning of the day during the all-hands meetings.
- Inspect jobsites to ensure Company Safety Program and OSHA compliance.
- Audit and update emergency response plans for projects.
- Review and modify the Site-Specific Safety Plan and the Site-Specific Electrical Safety Plan to match contractual requirements.
- Arrange and conduct basic first aid training for jobsite personnel.
- Arrange and conduct OSHA 10/30 training for their sites.
- Investigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidents.
- Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors
- Compile and issue regular accident report summaries
- Use Sunscreen for Near Miss, Audits and Opening and closing site safety issues.
- Verify the Sites Safety team are doing daily audits and Near Misses.
- Leads their Team in reporting Near Misses - uses the data to conduct morning toolbox talks.
- Able to locate company documents on the intranet Grid site.
- Provide updated information to employees regarding safety requirements updates or changes.
- Assist with weekly foremen's and monthly superintendent's safety meetings.
- Identify and handle project management personnel needing assistance, training, or discipline in meeting Corporate Safety guidelines and goals.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the Corporate Safety Team or Superintendent.
- Verifies the Emergency Action Plan is up-to-date and posted.
- Verifies all required documentation is available in the job trailer for review by site personnel and owners.
- Implements the Site-Specific Safety Plan and the Site-Specific Electrical Safety Plan.
- Coordinates and oversees the Site Safety Managers for Picks, LOTO, Red Rope and Energization.
Objectives or Goals to Measure Performance
- Reduction of frequency and severity of injury accidents
- Reduction of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and property premiums
- Elimination of OSHA citations
- Development of positive attitudes on the part of employees regarding safe work practices
- Ensure customer/client satisfaction.
- Improved personal professional growth and education.
- Improved communication of compliance issues to field personnel
- Provide safety education and training with electrical emphasis.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
- Safety certification as CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHT, or CIH desired
- BS in safety or equivalent years experience
- 5 years experience in safety or safety related field
- 5 years experience with performing electrical installation/trouble shooting
- Solar Power Generation experience a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction and General Industry Regulations
- Knowledge of 1910.269 - Power Generation standard.
- NFPA 70e knowledge.
- Ability to evaluate construction work activities with respect to safety and loss control
- Ability to recognize and analyze Company trends with respect to Company accidents
- Ability to recognize training needs and develop training in safety
- Computer skills, i.e. Word, Power Point, excel
- Presentation skills
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
- Requires regular travel across the US, travel approximately 80%
- Occasional exposure to dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals
- Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
- Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perception
- Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed places
- The noise intensity level is high
