Job Description
We are hiring Tooling Engineers to join our Blades Process Engineering team at the Vestas wind turbine blade factory in Taranto.
We are looking for professionals to support two key manufacturing areas: Handling & Logistics and Finish & Paint:
No matter your level of experience, we several vacancies, some for junior engineers and some others for senior engineers who want to enhance their career in an important renewable energy company.
Responsibilities
As a Tooling Engineer, you will support the design, development, and optimization of tools and equipment used in the manufacturing of wind turbine blades. Your focus will be on delivering safe, efficient, and standardized tooling solutions that support our goals for: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
You will work closely with international cross-functional teams, suppliers, and factory staff to ensure that all tooling meets technical, operational, and safety requirements.
- Design, specify, and optimize tooling for either Handling & Logistics or Finish & Paint processes.
- Define maintenance planning and treatment processes for lifecycle management of tools.
- Define technical and safety requirements for tools.
- Support supplier coordination and tool validation, including TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) - a system for maintaining and improving production and quality through equipment maintenance.
- Contribute to maintenance strategies using EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) systems - digital platforms for managing the lifecycle of tools and equipment.
- Solve tooling-related issues using structured methods like: 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagram
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve tool performance, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Support standardization projects and share best practices with other Vestas sites.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, CE marking (Conformité Européenne - European safety and quality standard), and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- We are hiring for different seniority levels - from junior engineers to experienced tooling specialists.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification

- Solid understanding of industrial tooling and mechanical systems.
- Ability to define technical and safety requirements for tools.
