Job Description

Are you ready to be part of a world-class project that's reshaping Australia's energy future? Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy initiative in the country, is an ambitious expansion of the iconic Snowy Scheme. Focused on providing on-demand power and vast storage capacity, this project is paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future.

The Role

Within Snowy 2.0, this position is embedded in the Owner's Team and is responsible for delivering independent site surveillance and assurance to verify that civil works executed by the Principal Contractor comply with contractual requirements, approved deliverables, and defined performance standards.

Based at either Lobs Hole or Tantangara, the role operates on a drive-in, drive-out basis and provides proactive oversight to ensure the Engineer's Representative (ER) function is administered rigorously and in full accordance with the Contract.

This is a 2-year engagement on a 14/7 FIFO roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion exemplary HSE performance, modelling Snowy Values and ensuring full compliance with corporate health, safety and governance standards.
  • Deliver rigorous contractor surveillance and assurance to confirm all civil works meet Employer's Requirements, contractual obligations and long-term asset performance expectations.
  • Undertake comprehensive daily site inspections across active and non-active work fronts, proactively identifying risks and driving timely mitigation to protect quality, safety and productivity.
  • Provide detailed oversight of construction activities, ensuring works align with approved IFC drawings, specifications, EIS conditions and project documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Safety, Environmental and Quality teams to coordinate inspections, release hold/witness points and uphold assurance standards.
  • Maintain accurate contemporaneous records, reporting and formal communications via ACONEX, including daily/weekly reports, photographic evidence and contractor quality documentation.

What' You'll Bring

You will bring demonstrated experience in similar roles within infrastructure construction or related industries, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a construction trade/supervision background complemented by relevant training and practical experience. You possess highly developed influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to make proactive, timely decisions and effectively identify and resolve complex issues. Adaptable and solutions-focused, you manage changing work environments with confidence while supporting others through transition. You demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to convey technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders. Equally effective working on-site or remotely, you have a proven track record of contributing collaboratively within a team environment while exercising autonomy, accountability and initiative.
