We are looking for an experienced and independent Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Team and play a key role in supporting our Romanian operations.
In this position, you will work closely with both local teams and international finance colleagues, lead key reporting activities, and help drive continuous improvements across our systems and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving end‑to‑end bookkeeping for Romanian entities, ensuring accurate daily financial data
- Leading monthly closings with confidence, delivering timely and reliable financial results
- Maintaining clean, reconciled balance sheet accounts and resolving intercompany differences
- Overseeing VAT processes in cooperation with tax advisors and handling invoicing activities
- Preparing statutory reports and annual financial statements under Romanian GAAP
- Guiding and motivating the Romanian Accounting Team to achieve top‑quality performance
- Partnering closely with the Chief International Accountant and colleagues across the Finance Team on compliance and reporting
- Supporting external auditors and ensuring smooth annual audit cycles
- Collaborating with local teams and advisors on accounting, tax, and operational matters
- Contributing to ERP localisation and other improvement initiatives that elevate financial operations
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience as an independent Accountant in an international environment
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Native Romanian speaker with communicative English
- Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax regulations
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data
- Familiarity with NetSuite or another ERP system
- Experience preparing financial statements and VAT/tax reports is a plus
- Basic understanding of IFRS is an advantage
- Strong analytical mindset, logical thinking, and exceptional attention to detail
- Reliable team player who can also work independently and stay calm under pressure
