Approximately 150 employees globally (source: stockanalysis.com).
What They Do
Invinity Energy Systems focuses exclusively on vanadium flow batteries (VFBs), which are a non-lithium technology designed for utility-grade, long-duration energy storage. This technology is particularly aimed at integrating with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, providing solutions for grid stability, energy arbitrage, and demand response (source: stockanalysis.com). Their core products include the modular Invinity VS3 and Endurium/Endurium Enterprise™ brands, which are factory-built, stackable systems that offer significant advantages such as zero thermal runaway risk and up to 30 years of cycling without degradation. This longevity translates to the lowest lifetime cost per MWh due to unlimited throughput and non-degrading power/energy decoupling (source: invinity.com). The batteries support configurations ranging from under 250 kWh to tens of MWh, catering to utilities and power producers for wholesale trading and ancillary services, as well as commercial and industrial sectors for peak shaving and grid independence (source: invinity.com). Their target markets span across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and Africa, with a diverse customer base that includes utilities, developers, and independent power producers.
Projects & Track Record
Invinity has successfully deployed or contracted projects totaling over 75 MWh across more than 40 sites in 17 countries on five continents. Notable completed projects include the installation of over 160 Avalon modules in various regions including North America, East Asia, Australia, and Europe since 2016, as well as significant contributions to the UK’s £41 million Energy Superhub Oxford project, which involved supplying VFBs alongside renewable energy sources (source: invinity.com). A key highlight in their recent project portfolio is the 8.4 MWh VFB delivery in 2023 to Elemental Energy for the Chappice Lake Solar Storage project in Alberta, Canada. This project integrates a 21 MWp solar array, enhancing grid stability with low-carbon dispatchable power (source: youtube.com). The company continues to expand its solar-plus-storage initiatives globally, with a robust pipeline supporting utility-scale, commercial, and microgrid applications, leveraging its multinational facilities for project delivery.
Recent Developments
Invinity has marked significant operational milestones, having discharged over 7 GWh of total energy from its batteries since 2022, reflecting its commitment to scaling deployments amid the ongoing energy transition (source: invinity.com). In 2023, the company secured a major contract for the 8.4 MWh Chappice Lake Solar Storage project, which was notable for being the largest flow battery of its kind at the time, coupled with a solar array to support grid operations (source: youtube.com). As of August 22, 2025, Invinity reported a stock price of 20.50 GBX and a market capitalization of approximately 0.07 billion GBP, indicating ongoing trading activity on the AIM market (source: stockanalysis.com). The company has not announced any major acquisitions or funding rounds post-2023, but it continues to emphasize its public market stability and growth potential, with Jonathan Anthony Marren serving as the current CEO.
Working There
Invinity employs approximately 150 staff across various roles, including engineering, operations, commercial/project development, and executive leadership. Key figures in the company include CEO Jonathan Anthony Marren, CFO Adam Howard, and COO Neil Lang (source: stockanalysis.com). The company hires across its global footprint, with headquarters in London focusing on commercial and executive positions, while manufacturing and engineering roles are based in Bathgate and Motherwell in the UK, as well as Suzhou in China. North American operations are centered in San Francisco and Vancouver, supporting project delivery and research and development (source: invinity.com). The multinational team emphasizes high standards in sustainability and innovation, with a culture that promotes collaboration and exceptional customer support during deployments. While specific benefits packages are not detailed, the company's focus on long-term employee-aligned incentives suggests a competitive environment for skilled professionals in the cleantech sector (source: invinity.com).

Energy storage is the most exciting area in energy today. Massive amounts of energy storage are required if renewable energy is to take its rightful place on the electric grid. Invinity provides an alternative to the most common type of battery, lithium-ion because the battery technology that works so well in our pockets doesn't work as well at the grid scale; it wears out, limits use, and even catches fire.
Manufactured as a standardised product in a factory, Invinity's vanadium flow batteries don't degrade, won't catch fire, and can be operated continuously from full charge to full discharge for over 30 years. Invinity has 75 megawatt-hours of its modular battery systems in 82 projects across 15 countries - more than any other company in the space. We've deployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, and are supported by the UK's National Wealth Fund, some of the world's leading institutional investors and our projects are backed by major institutions including the U.S. Department of Energy and the UK Government.
A compelling product and recent funding put Invinity in a position to grow dramatically as it addresses the global imperative for stationary energy storage. Join us as we help transform renewable energy into a stable and dependable contributor to the transition to net zero.
Invinity has operations in the UK, Canada and the U.S. and trades publicly in the UK on AIM and in the U.S. on OTCQX. For more information about us visit our webpage.
As a small and growing company, there is significant opportunity to shape the role and an expectation for both team and independent working.
This is a compelling opportunity to join an organisation with dynamic growth plans and may suit either an experienced Engineering Leader or equally, a senior-level Engineer seeking their next career step.
