Join our team at 3Degrees, a global leader in climate solutions. As a Climate Strategy Consultant on our Global Business Solutions team, you'll play a pivotal role in helping organizations transition to a low-carbon economy. You'll work with experienced professionals to conduct research, analyze data, and develop innovative strategies that address climate challenges.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Senior Climate Strategy Consultant or Manager. We value camaraderie, team collaboration, and the benefits of in-person connection, while offering flexibility. For this role, we prefer candidates to join us in a voluntary, flexible hybrid work style in our San Francisco Bay Area office. We may also consider candidates who are able to join us at one of our office hubs in Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY.

For exceptional remote candidates, we strongly prefer those located in states where we are currently eligible to hire: CA, OR, NY, WA, ME, TX, CO, MI, FL, MA, MN, VA, DC, GA, UT, and IL. While we prioritize candidates in, or open to relocating to, these states, we may consider outstanding remote candidates from other US states. What You'll Do

Our Consultants perform the following work:

  • Client Delivery: Support consulting projects focused on decarbonization, renewable energy, and climate solutions and participate in client facing meetings.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct research, analyze data, and develop carbon emissions and financial models.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct independent research, synthesizing information and presenting findings effectively; developing appropriate solutions at times with incomplete information.
  • Client Deliverables: Develop and co-present client-facing materials, including presentations, memos, and analytical tools for client deliverables.
  • Project Management: Contribute to project teams, ensuring deliverables are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Process Improvement: Implement quality control measures, capture project learnings and contribute to knowledge management initiatives.
  • KPIs/Metrics: Proactively track actual performance of own work performed against the established plan, with active communication with the Manager.

Requirements

We seek a highly motivated individual with 2-4 years of demonstrated consulting experience to join our Climate Strategy team. Ideal candidates possess a strong foundation in sustainability, climate science, or a related field, along with exceptional analytical and communication skills. A passion for driving sustainable solutions and a desire to work collaboratively with diverse teams is essential, along with the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a consulting or corporate sustainability role.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas measurement, renewable energy, carbon markets, corporate sustainability, and/or climate targets, or energy efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (advanced functions), with experience in data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Meticulous researcher skills capable of delving into scientific literature, industry reports, and policy documents to uncover actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering presentations to clients and/or stakeholders.
  • Versatility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or Economics preferred. A Master's Degree is a plus.

  • Develop a deep understanding of 3Degrees' business, strategic priorities, and the climate solutions we offer.
  • Gain a strong grasp of the team structure, systems, processes, and tools used to run the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the Global Business Solutions team.
  • Successfully complete onboarding and training programs.

Within the First 90 Days

  • Contribute effectively to client projects, demonstrating knowledge of decarbonization, renewable energy, and climate solutions.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis, synthesizing information and presenting findings effectively.
  • Develop client-facing materials, including presentations, memos, and analytical tools.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis and visualization using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Within the First 6 Months

  • Develop and co-present deliverables to clients and effectively manage assigned projects.
  • Take ownership of client deliverables and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and knowledge management efforts.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of greenhouse gas measurement, renewable energy, carbon markets, corporate sustainability, climate targets, or energy efficiency.

Within the First Year

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on climate strategy and solutions.
  • Contribute to complex projects and teams, demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • Develop and implement innovative climate strategies for clients that drive positive impact.
  • Develop expertise in a specific area of climate solutions (e.g., decarbonization, renewable energy, carbon markets).
  • Contribute to the development of new products, services, or methodologies based on client needs.
  • Actively contribute to marketing materials to support 3Degrees' position as a thought leader.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is in the US is $94,000.00 - $108,000.00. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
