Their Business
Ampd Energy focuses on advanced lithium-ion battery energy storage systems (ESS) designed to replace diesel generators in high-emission industries. Its core technologies include automotive-grade batteries, fire and explosion-proof modules, high-output power electronics, and internet connectivity through the Enernet software platform, enabling remote monitoring, data analysis, and over-the-air updates (source: cbinsights.com). Ampd Energy's flagship products include the Enertainer, a large transportable battery storage system that can be deployed within two hours for high-power loads such as cranes and welders, and the Ampd Silo, a compact 16.8 kWh unit originally designed as a UPS replacement but now integrated into a broader range of ESS products (source: ampd.energy).
Projects and Achievements
Notable projects by Ampd Energy include the deployment of the first Enertainer at the 108,000 square meter advanced manufacturing center in Hong Kong Science Park in October 2019, managed by Gammon Construction, aimed at achieving a 25% reduction in carbon intensity by 2025 (source: audacypartners.com). In the UK, the Enertainer replaced three diesel generators at Laing O’Rourke's Olympia redevelopment project in West London, significantly reducing noise and emissions (source: ampd.energy). As of June 2024, Ampd Energy has deployed 260 units, avoiding over 45,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions (source: audacypartners.com).
Recent Developments
In the past two years, Ampd Energy secured a significant round of funding led by Openspace and Kibo Invest, which will be used to expand manufacturing and enter markets in the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia (source: cbinsights.com). The company reported over 260 battery deployments in June 2024, resulting in a reduction of over 45,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and achieving up to 85% carbon reduction (source: tarongagroup.com). Additionally, Ampd Energy was selected for the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list prior to its expansion in 2022 and continues to grow its market share.
Work Environment
Ampd Energy offers positions across engineering, software (Enernet platform), sales/business development, operations/services, with recent hiring focused on growth executives, reaching a workforce of 60 employees by mid-2022 (source: audacypartners.com). The company culture emphasizes the management team's commitment to building commercially viable impact solutions and fostering close partnerships with investors to accelerate growth (source: cbinsights.com). While detailed employee benefits information is not available, the company provides maintenance plans as part of its product services to ensure reliability and efficiency of the equipment (source: ampd.energy).

Ampd Energy is seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the lifecycle management of our core product lines. You will own and operate the product management system at Ampd, sitting at the center of Product, Engineering, Service, Supply Chain, and Commercial to ensure our lifecycle runs smoothly, decisions are aligned, and initiatives move from concept to launch with clarity and discipline.
This is not a traditional "product visionary" role - at least not to start. It is a high-impact operator role focused on process, alignment, and execution. As the foundation is built and operating effectively, the role will naturally begin to support broader product strategy and vision.
What You'll Do
Own the Product Lifecycle Process
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle process across all core products - from concept through launch and ongoing optimization
- Ensure clear stage gates, decision points, and ownership at every phase
- Drive consistency and rigor in how products move through development and into market
Drive Cross-Functional Alignment
- Act as the central point of coordination across Product, Engineering, Service, and Commercial teams
- Ensure stakeholders are aligned on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Identify and resolve gaps in ownership, communication, and execution
Manage Product Governance & Decision-Making
- Run structured processes for:
- New product introductions
- Market expansion approvals
- Product changes and enhancements
- Ensure decisions are well-informed, documented, and aligned with company priorities
Operationalize Product Management
- Build and maintain product roadmaps, timelines, and core documentation
- Ensure updates, risks, and dependencies are clearly communicated across the organization
- Drive follow-through and accountability across teams
Support Global Product Execution
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to adapt products for different markets. Partner with regional stakeholders to bridge gaps between product design and market expectations.
- Ensure alignment with regional requirements, customer needs, and quality expectations
- Bring a strong understanding of global (particularly Western) standards for product acceptance and quality
Who You Are
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, or a similar cross-functional role
- Experience operating in hardware, industrial, energy, or technical environments is preferred
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional processes and drive execution
Ways of Working
- Highly organized and detail-oriented. You bring structure where it doesn't exist
- Strong communicator. You simplify complexity and keep stakeholders aligned
- Execution-focused. You ensure things get done, not just discussed
- Comfortable operating across global, remote teams
Technical Competency
- Able to understand and engage with technical concepts (ex: electrical systems, hardware/software integration)
- Not required to be a deep technical expert, but must have the capability and interest to learn technical concepts quickly and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders
