The Sales Team Leader is responsible for leading, coaching, and managing a team of Sales Activators to achieve sales targets, ensure operational compliance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The role oversees daily field sales activities, territory planning, inventory and payment reconciliation, customer engagement, and performance management while supporting the company's commercial growth objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, onboard, train, and develop high-performing Sales Activators in collaboration with the Area Sales Manager (ASM).
- Lead, motivate, and retain a team of approximately 10 to 15 Sales Activators, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct daily performance meetings to review sales results, prospect conversion rates, customer deliveries, operational challenges, and action plans.
- Provide ongoing field coaching, mentoring, and performance support to improve individual and team productivity.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and adherence to company standards among team members.
- Build a strong performance culture focused on achieving and exceeding business targets.
2. Territory Planning & Sales Execution
- Develop a detailed understanding of the assigned sales territory, including residential areas, markets, commercial centers, institutions, and other potential sales opportunities.
- Create and implement structured daily, weekly, and monthly route plans covering all target locations within the territory.
- Assign sales agents to specific territories and prospecting zones to maximize market coverage and efficiency.
- Translate monthly sales targets into individual daily and weekly targets and monitor progress closely.
- Drive sales activities to ensure achievement and overachievement of assigned sales objectives.
- Organize and support promotional events, market activations, demonstrations, roadshows, and other customer acquisition initiatives.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze team sales performance, conversion rates, productivity metrics, and customer acquisition results.
- Identify underperformance and implement corrective action plans to improve results.
- Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and performance reports to the ASM and management team.
- Maintain up-to-date sales trackers, performance dashboards, and operational reports.
- Ensure all team activities are properly documented and reported.
4. Financial & Inventory Reconciliation
- Ensure all revenues collected from product sales are deposited promptly into approved company accounts.
- Review and verify proof of payments submitted by Sales Activators.
- Reconcile sales transactions, inventory movements, customer registrations, payment references, and serial numbers daily.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to cash collections, inventory variances, customer registrations, and sales records.
- Collaborate closely with Finance and Field Operations teams to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company financial controls and cash-handling procedures.
5. Process Compliance & Operational Control
- Ensure all Sales Activators have completed required onboarding documentation and have active agent identification numbers.
- Monitor adherence to all sales processes, including prospecting, product demonstrations, customer onboarding, deliveries, and end-user registration requirements.
- Ensure customer data is captured accurately, completely, and within established timelines.
- Verify that all operational trackers, databases, and reporting tools are maintained accurately and updated on time.
- Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and carbon project requirements.
6. Customer Experience & Market Intelligence
- Support Sales Activators in resolving customer concerns, objections, and service issues encountered in the field.
- Escalate significant customer complaints or operational issues to regional leadership when necessary.
- Ensure customers receive accurate information regarding products, payment processes, registration requirements, and after-sales support.
- Collect and share customer feedback to improve products, services, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, promotions, and market developments.
- Provide actionable market intelligence to support business growth and protect market share.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Area Sales Managers, Field Operations, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, and Data Management teams to ensure seamless execution of business activities.
- Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at increasing sales performance, customer acquisition, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in regional planning and business review meetings as required.
8. Other Duties
- Perform any additional commercial, operational, or administrative responsibilities assigned by the Area Sales Manager or Senior Management.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as required by the business.
