Job Description

The Senior Project Manager leads the execution of mission-critical power infrastructure projects supporting hyperscale data centers, including natural gas generation, BESS, microgrids, controls, and utility interconnections. The role manages projects from FEED through EPC, commissioning, and COD, ensuring safe, reliable, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership & System Integration

  • Lead execution of utility-scale gas power generation, BESS, and microgrid projects supporting hyperscale data centers.
  • Own scope, schedule, cost, risk, and project delivery from FEED through EPC, commissioning, and COD.
  • Manage EPC contractors, Owner's Engineers, OEMs, controls vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead integration of generation, energy storage, controls, SCADA/EMS, switchgear, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure projects meet availability, reliability, permitting, financing, and customer requirements.
  • Support commissioning, startup, performance testing, and operational readiness.

Feed Management

  • Manage FEED contractor and Owner's Engineer activities.
  • Develop bankable, construction-ready FEED packages through 30/60/90% design reviews.
  • Optimize project design for cost, performance, constructability, and permitting compliance.
  • Project Controls & Risk Management
  • Manage project controls, reporting, cost forecasting, schedules, and risk registers.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial, permitting, supply chain, and construction risks.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and drive corrective actions as required.

Required Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience managing utility-scale power generation, energy storage, microgrid, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing FEED, EPC and Commissioning phases of large-scale energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of power generation technologies (GT, CC, RICE), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power system controls, and mission-critical electrical infrastructure supporting data centers
  • Experience managing EPC contractors and Owner's Engineer relationships
  • Proven track record of delivering projects >$100M
  • Understanding of high-availability and mission-critical power systems supporting data center operations.
  • Based in Houston, TX with ability to travel as required to project sites.

Preferred

  • Experience delivering behind-the-meter power solutions for data centers, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical customers
  • Utility-scale BESS, microgrids, or distributed energy systems.
  • SCADA, EMS, DCS, PLC, or power management systems.
  • Electrical integration, commissioning, and startup.
  • ETAP, PSS®E, SKM, or similar power system studies.
  • Air permitting and environmental compliance.
  • PMP certification

Compensation

$165,000 - $185,000 salary
