At IX Renewables we're looking for a junior Project Engineer to join our team.
The position and responsibilities
The junior Project Engineer reports to the Head of Client Succes and works closely with experienced engineers and project managers on international offshore wind projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to three years of experience to develop technical, analytical, and commercial skills within the offshore wind industry.
IX Renewables over the past years has developed an Operation and Maintenance modelling tool (SOMOS8.0). With this tool developers can better understand the set-up of their O&M organization and the associated OPEX.
During your first assignments, you will primarily support the OPEX Modelling project and the SOMOS project, while also contributing to other engineering and consultancy activities.Your responsibilities and tasks:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of OPEX and financial models for offshore wind projects.
- Assisting with engineering analyses and technical assessments for offshore wind developments.
- Collecting, analysing and validating technical and commercial project data.
- Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations and client deliverables.
- Working with Excel-based models and other analytical tools.
- Assisting in the evaluation of CAPEX, OPEX and DEVEX assumptions for offshore wind projects.
- Supporting multidisciplinary project teams throughout different project phases.
- Coordinating assigned tasks independently while proactively communicating progress.
- Contributing to technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering or a technical discipline such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar, preferably with a focus on Offshore Energy.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical skills and affinity with technical and financial modelling.
- Advanced Excel skills and willingness to work extensively with data and modelling.
- Interest in offshore wind economics, including CAPEX, OPEX and DEVEX.
- Able to work independently and in a structured manner.
- Proactive, eager to learn and able to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Experience with modelling software is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to work in an international environment and occasionally travel when required.
