Name

Headquarters

Vienna, Austria

Founded

1986

Size

What They Do

RP Global is a large-scale developer, operator, and investor specializing in renewable energy projects including solar PV, wind, hydro, and storage technologies. With over 40 years of experience, the company manages a development pipeline exceeding 14 GW(p) across seven core European markets such as Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, and Croatia (source: rp-global.com). Their business model integrates project development, permitting, engineering, legal, finance, grid, construction, asset management, and business development functions, reflecting their growth-stage independent power producer (IPP) positioning (source: linkedin.com). RP Global operates from headquarters in Vienna and Madrid, with an additional office in Hamburg, enabling cross-border collaboration and market expansion (source: greentech.at). Their integrated platform allows them to move projects from early-stage permitting through construction to long-term ownership, supported by significant institutional backing.

Projects & Track Record

RP Global has constructed more than 40 power plants and currently operates or has under construction 16 plants, demonstrating a strong track record in renewable energy asset delivery (source: greentech.at). Their operational footprint extends beyond their seven core European markets to include countries such as Austria, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, France, Poland, Georgia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, and Tanzania, highlighting their international reach (source: greentech.at). A notable recent project focus is green hydrogen, exemplified by their involvement with Vienna's first green hydrogen production facility, a 3 MW electrolyser commissioned in 2024 by Wien Energie and Wiener Netze, producing up to 1,300 kilograms of green hydrogen daily for mobility and gas grid injection use cases (source: linkedin.com). This project illustrates RP Global's engagement with emerging technologies adjacent to their core renewable portfolio.

Recent Developments

In the last two years, RP Global has undergone significant corporate developments, most notably the €480 million investment by French asset manager Mirova, which acquired a significant minority stake through equity and mezzanine bonds. This transaction is designed to accelerate RP Global's growth, enabling the construction of over 2,500 MW(p) of solar, wind, and storage assets within five years and advancing their transition to a full-scale IPP platform (source: pv-magazine.com). Additionally, RP Global announced a rebrand and launched a new website, signaling a refreshed market identity while maintaining their core strategy focused on utility-scale renewable development and investment (source: rp-global.com).

Working There

RP Global offers a diverse range of roles across development, operations, investment, and business development functions, reflecting its integrated approach to renewable energy project delivery (source: rp-global.com). The company maintains strong local teams in seven European markets and recruits primarily from its Vienna and Hamburg offices, with Vienna serving as the main headquarters (source: linkedin.com). Teams such as Green Hydrogen and Business Development indicate opportunities in emerging technologies and market expansion, appealing to candidates interested in project development, commercial, finance, and technical roles (source: linkedin.com). The company culture emphasizes international collaboration, a growth mindset, and long-term career development within the renewables value chain (source: rp-global.com).
