- Ensure seamless coordination among various components and subsystems through the CAD framework and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize various subsystems, components, and processes within the thermal battery system.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project such design specifications, CAD models, simulation results, and test reports.
- Provide progress updates and technical reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
- Support functional testing of electrical equipment, instrumentation, PLC I/O, and control systems.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting during and after project installation, commissioning and integration.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering.
- 1-3 years of professional engineering experience (co-op experience will be considered).

What They Do
Electrified Thermal Solutions specializes in industrial electrification and thermal energy storage, focusing on delivering very high-temperature heat solutions for heavy industry sectors such as cement, mining, steel and metals, chemicals, and food processing (source: electrifiedthermal.com). Their core technology, the Joule Hive™ Thermal Battery, converts electricity into stored heat using electrically conductive firebricks known as "E-bricks," capable of delivering heat up to 1,800°C (3,275°F) for demanding industrial processes (source: electrifiedthermal.com). The company operates a manufacturing facility in Charlestown, Massachusetts, where it produces E-bricks at scale to support its thermal battery deployments (source: electrifiedthermal.com). Their business model centers on providing modular thermal energy storage systems that can serve industrial thermal loads ranging from 1 to 5 MW, with scalability for larger applications (source: electrifiedthermal.com). This technology enables industries to decarbonize by replacing fossil-fuel-based heat with clean, stored electricity converted to heat on demand (source: electrifiedthermal.com).
Projects & Track Record
Electrified Thermal Solutions commissioned its first commercial-scale Joule Hive Thermal Battery system at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in San Antonio, Texas, which stores 20 MWh of heat and serves thermal loads in the 1–5 MW range (source: electrifiedthermal.com). This milestone demonstrated the viability of their modular thermal storage technology for industrial applications. The company has secured letters of intent with multiple customers across diverse industries, targeting a deployment capacity of 2 GW thermal power by 2030 (source: electrifiedthermal.com). Their Charlestown facility, opened in March 2026, supports over 500 MWh of annual Joule Hive deployments and provides direct control over E-brick manufacturing at scale through the end of the decade (source: electrifiedthermal.com). Additionally, a strategic manufacturing partnership with HWI, a member of Calderys, was established in July 2025 to develop and produce the conductive firebricks essential to the Joule Hive system (source: electrifiedthermal.com).
Recent Developments
In January 2026, Electrified Thermal Solutions announced the commissioning of its first commercial-scale Joule Hive Thermal Battery at Southwest Research Institute, marking a significant commercialization milestone (source: electrifiedthermal.com). In March 2026, the company opened a new headquarters and E-brick production facility in Charlestown, Massachusetts, enhancing its manufacturing capabilities and capacity for large-scale deployments (source: electrifiedthermal.com). In September 2026, Electrified Thermal announced a partnership with Holcim to deploy the Joule Hive Thermal Battery as part of Holcim’s electrification roadmap, initially deploying two units to support decarbonization efforts (source: yahoo.com). This agreement highlights the growing industry adoption of Electrified Thermal’s technology for clean, high-temperature heat storage and delivery (source: yahoo.com).
Working There
Electrified Thermal Solutions hires across a range of technical and manufacturing roles including electrical engineering, controls, hardware development, manufacturing, and commissioning, reflecting its focus on industrial hardware and thermal energy systems (source: simplyhired.com). Job postings indicate that some roles require approximately 50% travel for field installation and commissioning activities, emphasizing hands-on customer engagement and system deployment (source: simplyhired.com).
