Job description
The Finance Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting activities for the Vietnam portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective internal controls, and strong business support to local management.
The role acts as the key finance partner for Vietnam operations and plays a critical role in month-end closing, statutory reporting, tax compliance, treasury oversight, audit coordination, process improvement initiatives, and SAP-related transformation projects.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Closing
- Lead monthly financial close activities for Vietnam entities, including consolidation of Vietnam subgroup.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end adjustments.
- Monitor balance sheet integrity and resolve aged or unusual items.
- Support Vietnam consolidation and group reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local Vietnamese accounting standards (VAS).
Statutory Compliance & Tax
- Coordinate statutory audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Work with tax team for submission of tax filings, including CIT, VAT, FCT and other local regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in accounting, tax and regulatory requirements and assess impact to the business.
Business Partnering
- Serve as the finance business partner to local management teams and regional FP&A team.
- Provide financial analysis and insights supporting operational and strategic decisions.
- Support investment evaluations, commercial transactions and business initiatives.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Support and monitor cash positions and liquidity requirements across Vietnam entities.
- Review cash flow forecasts and working capital performance.
- Support shareholder loans, intercompany funding arrangements and loan compliance requirements.
Internal Controls & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Group Finance policies and internal control requirements.
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify operational, financial and compliance risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Support internal audits and remediation of audit findings.
Systems & Transformation
- Support SAP implementation, data migration and system enhancement initiatives.
- Drive automation and digitalization opportunities within finance processes.
- Improve reporting capabilities and dashboard development.
- Participate in regional finance transformation projects.
Team Leadership
- Lead Vietnam accounting team.
- Provide coaching, technical guidance and performance development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Manage external service providers and outsourced resources where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification preferred (CPA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent).
- 8-15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- Experience in a multinational environment.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Prior experience managing audits, tax compliance and financial reporting.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems preferred.
- Renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities or project-based industry experience is advantageous.
