Job description
You are the strategic engine of our sales team and the bridge to our product group. In this role, you spend your time with energy sector executives, deciphering their long-term digital strategy, identifying where their current IT architecture is holding them back, and showing them a clear path forward with our platform.
Rather than walking through feature checklists or running standard software demos, you help prospective clients map out the financial and operational impact of changing how they work. You will sit in the room with Powernaut's exciting team of Account Executives to build trust with enterprise architects and business leaders, prove the financial return on investment, and turn complex client feedback into clear direction for our product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives on major energy accounts to lead strategic discovery, identify core business pains, and design high-impact solutions.
- Calculate and demonstrate business value, building clear financial ROI models and business cases for executive buyers.
- Map high-level enterprise architectures, integration points, and security requirements without losing sight of the broader commercial goals.
- Run technical validation, manage RFP responses, develop partnerships in the context of winning deals and resolve complex objections during the sales process.
- Bring raw feedback from the field directly to our Product team, helping turn market requirements into prioritized features on our roadmap.
- Guide prospects through the transition from early sales conversations to full deployment, ensuring they realize the promised value.
What You Bring
- At least 5 years in solution architecture, technical consulting, or enterprise pre-sales within SaaS and the energy sector.
- Broad understanding of energy industry tech stacks, legacy utility platforms, cloud architecture, and security standards.
- Strong commercial instinct with proven success driving complex enterprise RFPs, procurement rounds, and executive discussions.
- Ability to talk strategy with a CIO, dive into integration details with an Enterprise Architect, and keep everyone focused on business outcomes.
- Sharp analytical skills to capture customer pain points and translate them into actionable requirements for internal product teams.

What They Do
Powernaut develops an advanced Energy Operations Workspace and virtual power plant software designed to orchestrate decentralized energy systems rather than generate energy itself (source: powernaut.io). Their platform integrates connectivity, aggregation, forecasting, optimization, trading, and settlement functionalities, enabling energy retailers, utilities, and independent power producers to manage distributed energy resources from a single interface (source: powernaut.io). The core technology connects and orchestrates flexible assets such as solar panels, batteries, electric vehicles, heat pumps, and wind turbines, with specialized connector editions tailored for DER flexibility, utilities workflows, and e-mobility (source: powernaut.io). Powernaut’s solution offers cloud or smart-gateway connectivity, positioning itself as a comprehensive workspace for asset, market, and business operations, allowing customers to automate balancing actions and integrate with trading desks (source: now.solar). Their target market includes energy suppliers, utilities, retailers, and power producers seeking to manage grid flexibility, reduce strain, create innovative tariff products, and monetize distributed assets without replacing existing hardware (source: pv-magazine.com).
Projects & Track Record
Powernaut has established partnerships managing over 200 MW of decentralized energy assets across Europe (source: pv-magazine.com). A landmark project includes the full commercial deployment of its Energy Operations Workspace across DSG’s 350 MW solar and storage portfolio in the Netherlands, where the platform centralizes asset oversight, market participation, and operational performance (source: now.solar). In Belgium, Powernaut launched a residential energy flexibility program in November 2024 in collaboration with a leading energy supplier, focusing on flexible household energy use and consumer remuneration through supplier contracts (source: powernaut.io). Additionally, in July 2026, the company introduced its Energy Operations Workspace on the SAP Store with three connector editions addressing solar and battery flexibility, utilities workflows, and e-mobility, enhancing integration capabilities within the SAP ecosystem (source: powernaut.io). These projects demonstrate Powernaut’s growing footprint and technological leadership in decentralized energy management.
Recent Developments
In late 2024, Powernaut secured €2.4 million in pre-seed funding led by Revent, with participation from Seedcamp, Pitchdrive, and Syndicate One, aimed at accelerating expansion in the Benelux region and beyond (source: siliconcanals.com). This funding round followed a $2.53 million seed round completed in December 2024, underscoring strong investor confidence (source: pv-magazine.com). The company reported managing over 200 MW of decentralized assets and targeted annual recurring revenue exceeding €1 million by early 2026 (source: pv-magazine.com). In November 2024, Powernaut announced its residential energy flexibility program in Belgium, enhancing consumer engagement in energy markets (source: powernaut.io). More recently, in July 2026, the company integrated its platform into the SAP ecosystem and published detailed product insights highlighting partner integrations (source: powernaut.io).
