Job description
The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.
We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo Energy's data was in the room.
Founded in 2019, we're 90+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.
This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.
The Role
We're hiring an Account Manager in London to own a book of around 40 customer accounts across GB and Europe. You'll join the Account Management team within Revenue based in London.
Your mission is simple: delight customers and grow revenue with them. You'll be the person they trust at Modo, and you'll turn the real value they get from us into strong retention and expansion. Our customers include some of the biggest names in energy and finance, using Modo to make high-stakes investment decisions.
You'll have real autonomy over your accounts, your commercial outcomes and how you run your book. You'll work closely with Customer Success, Sales, Product, Research, Marketing and Finance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning your book: learn each customer's goals and how they use Modo, build a clear plan for every account, and make sure they get real value from the platform, including Ko.
- Owning renewals: run renewals end to end and protect gross revenue retention (GRR), balancing what's right for the customer with what's right for Modo on pricing and terms.
- Driving expansion: grow net revenue retention (NRR) by bringing customers into new markets, products and higher tiers.
- Spotting risk early: work with Customer Success to catch low engagement or churn risk well before renewal, and focus your time where it moves GRR and NRR most.
- Being the voice of the customer: feed what you hear back to Product, Research and Sales so it shapes what we build and sell.
What We're Looking For
The Essentials
- 3+ years in Account Management or Customer Success at a B2B SaaS or data company, owning a book of accounts directly.
- Real commercial ownership: you've carried renewal and expansion numbers and know your GRR and NRR.
- Resourceful without a playbook. You hustle for your customers and don't wait to be told; experience at a fast-growing startup or scale-up is a real plus.
- Customer first, with the judgement to balance customer and company interests in commercial conversations.
- Comfortable using CRM tools such as HubSpot and AI tools like Claude in your day-to-day work.
Nice To Have
- Experience managing enterprise accounts spanning multiple teams or regions.
- Background in energy, data, analytics or market intelligence products. No energy experience? That's fine, as long as you're curious and learn fast.
- Additional European languages.
What You Can Expect From Us
At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward. We're a high-performance team; ambitious, collaborative, and genuinely motivated by the scale of what we're trying to build.
You'll have real ownership from day one, work alongside some of the brightest people in the industry, and be part of a company that's defining a new category in the global energy market. We're hybrid: everyone works Tuesday to Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday flexible. We offer top-of-market compensation, equity for every employee, and the space to take your career wherever you want it to go.
We're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers. If that's you, we want to talk.
