We’re looking for a Senior Chemical Engineer to join the Cell Chemical Engineering team within our Cell Engineering organization. In this role, you will improve our product integration and lead of Form Energy’s long-duration energy storage system.

Why is electrolyte so important? It touches all components of our cell. The Electrolyte Engineering team offers you a unique opportunity to interface with various internal teams, including R&D, Cell Design, Cell Performance and System Design.

You will rely on your electrochemical engineering experience to lead the efforts on identifying and solving crucial design, performance and cell-system interface problems. Your success in this position will play a critical role in solving pressing and often open-ended technical problems with rigor and creativity.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Cell Design and DevTest Teams to plan and own experiments to de-risk product cell designs.
  • Analyze experiments to quantify performance, validate designs, and facilitate collaboration between R&D, engineering, cell engineering, and system engineering to establish requirements for cell engineering design or performance.
  • Provide high-quality data analysis for electrochemical tests.
  • Design and conduct experiments to understand the impact of material selection on cell design, performance, cost, and safety.
  • Establish processes and define system requirements to maintain chemical specifications throughout the battery's service lifetime.

What you'll bring

  • PhD or MS with 3+ years of professional experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field is required
  • A strong technical background in electrochemical analysis and test data interpretation
  • Experience leading root-cause analysis projects
  • Demonstrated experience with product integration requirements setting
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

We also offer at least 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents (up to 20 weeks for birthing parents), and generous vacation policies to give employees time to recharge when needed.
