The Project Manager (NPI) – eLumina LCC will lead and deliver the development program for the application of GE’s existing LCC control functionality on to the eLumina Control Platform and moving on to establish this functionality in to a re-usable, fully configurable control system as has been developed for the VSC project using the eLumina platform.

This will require working with an external overseas partner who is working with us and will eventually deliver the application part of the control functionality and a dedicated internal team of subject-matter-experts for LCC control applications.

This first application of this work is a contract already in-hand for an HVDC project in South Korea and we see a pipeline of 3 further similar projects and strong pipeline of other applications.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Generate and manage project plan: deliverables, resources, timeline.
  • Plan, monitor and report the progress of the project, working closely with the internal team leaders and our external partners.
  • Ensure that this progress meets the needs of the concerned HVDC projects and maintain full alignment with these project teams.
  • Understand, manage and coordinate day-by-day activities on the project – e.g. activity prioritisation and unblocking, across-teams information alignment, critical path de-risking.
  • Maintain and drive execution rigor of design, studies, module releases, integration- and test plans to achieve commitments on-time and on-budget.
  • Facilitates technical discussions and organise technical reviews in the scope of the projects.
  • Manage Budget and Cost Baseline.
  • Ensure that the project is executed according to the NPI process as well as the development life cycle follows quality rules and standards (SDLC).
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
  • Proactively identify technology and project execution risks that may impact product consistency or on-time delivery.
  • Manage cost of non-quality tracking through systematic root cause analysis and relentless pursuit of corrective actions..

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering with considerable experience or equivalent knowledge and experience in Technical Project / Program Management.
  • Outstanding leadership and organisational skills, excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Financial literacy.
  • Works well to deadlines and under pressure.
  • An excellent capability and demonstrated project management skills for large and challenging software product development with solid track record of success.
  • Exceptional planning, communication and coaching skills.
  • An extensive system mind-set.
  • Familiar with VSC/LCC Control Software design, studies, implementation and validation principals and techniques: Simulink, PSCAD/RSCAD, RTDS.
  • Expert in Agile- and traditional program management methodology and tools.
  • Experience with tools: Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet / MSProject / P6.
  • Familiarity with GE NPI/NTI processes and metrics.
  • An excellent can-do attitude and energy level.
  • Demonstrated experience and track record of success in working with global engineering teams.
  • Availability to travel internationally at least 10% of the time.
