The Quantity Surveyor is a vital member of the solar project management team, focusing on the financial aspects and contract administration of projects for Singapore and Indonesia. This role involves detailed cost management, proactive claims handling, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure the efficiency and compliance of solar installations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Contracts Manager in overseeing all quantity surveying tasks related to Sub-Contracts, Works Orders, and Purchase Orders specific to solar installations.
  • Collaborate with project Engineers and engineers to determine precise project quantities and verify cost variations, ensuring accurate progress claims within the solar projects.
  • Participate in post-tender activities to refine project strategies and maintain accurate records for ongoing and future solar projects.
  • Manage historical data effectively to support strategic bidding and project forecasting in the solar industry.
  • Analyze and process vendor claims with a focus on adherence to solar industry standards and contractual agreements.
  • Administer documentation related to solar project contracts, providing strategic recommendations to mitigate disputes and enhance contractual terms.
  • Ensure timely submission of Variation Orders (VO) and facilitate clear communication with project management regarding regular progress claims and the final account settlement for solar projects monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Managing project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction management, engineering, or a related field, with a focus or coursework in renewable energy or environmental sustainability.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or project management for construction projects, preferably within the solar energy or renewable energy sector.

Preferred Skills & Characteristics

  • Comprehensive understanding of quantity surveying and contract administration within the solar energy sector.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and high-pressure situations effectively.
