About the role

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to drive the development and implementation of our safety culture in the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the work in crafting our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management system, meticulously aligning it with internationally recognized regulations and standards (EU Directives on Safety and Health at work, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 etc).
  • Set the gold standard by establishing and maintaining robust safety, environmental and Quality policies, procedures, and documentation, to ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory mandates.
  • Proactive evaluation through regular internal audits, assessing our adherence to stringent Safety, Environmental and Quality standards. Your keen eye for detail will drive us to constantly refine and elevate our practices, turning every audit finding into an opportunity for improvement.
  • On our international ventures, we take the helm in ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and Quality excellence across all project phases.
  • Collaborate closely with project and construction managers to craft comprehensive HSE and Quality specifications, requirements, and plans tailored to each unique project.
  • Play a pivotal role in design reviews and risk assessments, contributing your expertise to identify and mitigate potential Occupational, environmental and process hazards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with project authorities and stakeholders, ensuring Safety and Quality considerations are front and centre in project planning and execution.
  • Monitor HSE requirements and performance on construction sites, implementing proactive measures to safeguard personnel and the environment.
  • Act as a catalyst for continuous improvement within the HSE area, championing best practices and innovative work processes.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with HSE and quality and requirements and identify areas for improvement.

Required skills & experiences

  • Hold a university degree In Occupational Health and Safety, coupled with a minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience, ideally gained in industrial projects in a construction setting, or relevant certifications as Certified Safety Professional.
  • Showcase your expertise in developing, implementing, and overseeing proactive HSE and Quality systems, fostering a culture of safety excellence. · Demonstrate proficiency in design reviews, HAZOP, and risk management techniques, showcasing your ability to navigate complex challenges with ease.
  • Possess a proactive and forward-thinking Safety and Quality mindset, with a proven track record of driving positive change. · Monitor and manage existing ISO certifications, ensuring compliance with certification requirements and timely renewal of certificates.
  • Bring a wealth of knowledge in engineering, construction, and project management processes to the table, enabling you to provide well-rounded Safety leadership.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and management skills, adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Possess a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, coupled with the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Fluent in English languages with an international mindset.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Eligible to work in Spain
