Role Description
The Advanced Product Development team is a multidisciplinary group, focused on delivering designs for the next generation of Form Energy's utility-scale multi-day energy storage system. The team does early-phase engineering to evaluate alternative concepts and choose the best design path to meet operational performance targets, at cost and with high reliability, from controlled processes on high-volume manufacturing lines.
Form Energy is hiring a Staff Electrical Architect to lead the electrical design of Form Energy's Gen 2 product. As part of our Advanced Product Development team, you will work with the Research & Development, Product Architecture, Manufacturing, and Controls teams to evaluate alternative concepts and choose the best design path to meet operational performance targets, at cost and with high reliability, from controlled processes on high-volume manufacturing lines. This opportunity will be based out of Form Energy's facility in either Weirton WV, Berkeley CA, or Somerville MA. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do
- Work with Product Architecture and Performance teams to define requirements
- Design electrical systems that will be the foundation of Form Energy's Gen 2 product
- Perform hands-on prototyping of designs and collaborate with broader teams to build integrated prototypes
- Run and analyze trials to inform specs and future design direction
What you'll bring
- 8+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for Energy Storage systems
- Experience taking products from concept through field deployment
- MS or higher in Electrical Engineering, or similar
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
