Job Description

The position is part of the Policy & Market Development department team & will report to the VP, Policy & Market Development, with a dotted reporting line to the President of EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & execute advocacy strategies to influence EU & UK government policies in alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Establish & maintain relationships with key government officials, regulators, & legislators.
  • Represent the company in meetings, hearings, & forums to advocate for favorable policies & regulations.
  • Collaborate with the local legal team to monitor & analyze legislative & regulatory developments in the EU & UK, providing background information & timelines.
  • Offer strategic guidance on regulatory compliance & implications of proposed legislation to internal stakeholders.
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with industry groups, trade associations, & external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align government affairs strategies with business objectives.
  • Conduct research on political, economic, & social trends in the EU & UK to inform strategies.
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy papers, & reports for senior management.
  • Analyze the impact of legislative & regulatory changes on the company’s operations.
  • Organize & participate in events such as legislative days, policy briefings, & networking events.
  • Coordinate site visits & meetings for government officials to showcase the company’s operations.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, & interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex policy issues & develop strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English & French; any additional language is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or related roles with a focus on the EU & UK.
  • Proven network of contacts within government & industry.
  • In-depth understanding of legislative & regulatory processes in the EU & UK.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
