Here’s the Gist

Wolfspeed’s SiC Epitaxy R&D team is looking for an early career mechanical engineer with interest in design of higher temperature components needed to grow high quality SiC thin films utilized in next generation power devices.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

The Day-to-Day

  • Support the team through ownership of parts design for SiC epitaxy systems
  • Review failure mechanisms to help drive process improvement and equipment uptime
  • Generate CAD designs for modeling and practical test environments
  • Track parts from CAD to test to eventual production qualification
  • Use effective written and verbal communication to present results to R&D and Production teams
  • Interface with a broad range of vendors, operators, technicians, and other technical staff across Production and R&D teams in a community of shared resources
  • Drive hardware improvement through rigorous project management

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)

  • BS in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Ceramics, Electrical, or Physical Sciences degree
  • CAD experience using SolidWorks or similar software package in production environment
  • Basic understanding of high temperature materials
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to consistently lift 20 pounds.
  • This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
