Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator/Generalist will provide comprehensive support to the HR department and assist in the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. With Dandelion, this position will play a pivotal role in the HR functions of onboarding, offboarding, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and HR reporting. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to handle multiple HR functions with accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Employee Onboarding & Offboarding:
    • Facilitate the new hire onboarding process, including pre-employment checks, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to legal and company requirements.
    • Prepare onboarding materials, deliver orientation sessions, and ensure new hires are properly integrated into the organization.
    • Handle exit interviews and coordinate the offboarding process, ensuring proper documentation and return of company property.
  2. Compensation & Benefits Administration:
    • Assist the Sr. HR Manager with the administration of the employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
    • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, plan changes, and resolve issues related to benefits.
    • Coordinate open enrollment activities, ensure accurate benefit processing, and liaise with benefit providers as needed.
  3. HRIS & Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS) and personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
    • Track and report on key HR metrics such as turnover rates, headcount, time-to-fill, and retention rates.
    • Coordinate the timely processing of employee changes in the HRIS, including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  4. Payroll Support & Processing:
    • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, overtime, and bonuses.
    • Review timesheets, attendance records, and other related payroll information for completeness and accuracy.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of year-end tax documents, including W-2s and 1099s.
    • Assist with preparation and filing of quarterly and annual tax reports.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and company policies, including tax withholdings, garnishments, and deductions.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 1-5 years of HR experience (internship or entry-level HR position is acceptable).
  3. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HRIS systems (preferred).
  5. Proficiency with Google Office Suite (Slides, sheets, forms) and experience with HRIS systems (preferred).
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Work Environment

This position typically operates within an office environment with regular working hours. As a hybrid position, candidates may work from home on Wednesdays and report to the office the remainder of the week. Occasional travel may be required for company functions, training, or professional development.
